22. The Unknown

As I was reading this third book "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", discovering Harry’s adventures in a world that only exists in Imagination, some very surreal things were happening in the World I live in. I am not sure now which World is more real, The Imagination World, the World in my head or the External World? While Harry Potter was struggling to get away from the crazy Muggle family hosting him, making his existence like hell, the characters in my world kept killing each other. The attempt to kill an American politician, and possibly future president, took the online world by storm. Conversations about conspiracies are ripe and they burst open. The word is filled with their pungent smell. Some days, it feels like we all live in Harry Potter’s world. This time Harry Potter had a hell of an adventure. I really enjoyed the fact that nobody was trying to kill him, even if we were led into believing so for most of the story. When we finally find out that the bad character, someone who escaped the most horrible prison - Azkaban(where prisoners’ souls are feeding the Dementors) does not have morbid intentions towards Harry and is in fact protecting him, wanting to help him - we can breathe out and relax! At least that’s what I did! It was very interesting to see that Harry embraced the unknown, did not reject this new character who seems to have a shady past. Harry’s mind is innocent, his actions have pure intentions. Until now, he has been courageously defending himself. And don't we all love a good, courageous and intrepid character!? After every book that I read, I also watch the movie. They are all fun to see, I spot the differences between the book and the movie. I check if the way I imagined things is similar to the way things were depicted in the movie-which I believe has become the default. I mean, if someone thinks of Harry Potter now, they see Daniel Radcliff’s face. This movie in particular has a lot of differences and I enjoyed observing them. But somehow, the book feels more real. As if the story from the book is imprinted in my head now, while the movie is a place I’ve been, looked around and got out. What do I take away from this one? That the unknown is all around us, even if we look at it every day. Ok, now it's time for the next one!
